Biochemistry:

Branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) inhibitor.

Acts by inhibiting biosynthesis of the essential amino acids valine and isoleucine, hence stopping cell division and plant growth. Selectively is due to rapid metabolism in the crop. Metabolic basis of selectivity reviewed.

Mode of action:

Selective contact herbicide absorbed by the foliage and roots, with rapid translocation to the meristematic tissues.

Uses:

In Iran its used against  annual broad- leave weeds and sedges in rice field when rice has 1-3 leaves and also weeds have 1-3 leaves.

It is used at 50- 75 g/ ha
